instagraming.

Some of my favourite moments from the first month of the year via instagram, of course! It has been an amazing start to the brand new year with so many fun things going on. Now I'm looking forward to February, I feel like it's going to be an awesome month too, especially since it's the last month of winter!

But, let's just back up for a second, it's the second month of the year tomorrow...already! How did that happen?! How was your January?

Wow! I cannot believe it's been six months since I did my last sponsor round-ups post! After a completely hectic second half of 2012, I couldn't put much time and effort into my sponsors. So I offered them free sponsorship up until the end of this month. I've loved having them and would offer them free sponsorship forever if I could. These girls are great!

However, now I am back to accepting sponsors with all my time and effort involved again and I couldn't be more excited. If you are interested in sponsoring The Littlest Things, check out the Sponsor page for more information or email me at; sophlear@thelittlesthings.com. I would love to work with you!

My all time favourite outfits are the ones where you can literally roll out of bed, chuck on some oversized items like your boyfriends shirt and a huge scarf, chuck on a beanie to disguise unwashed hair, chuck on some classic skinny jeans and you're set to go. No adjusting of tights riding down, skirts falling in the wrong place, tops riding up...instead it's just pure comfortableness. Which makes me happy to just stroll around all afternoon. Especially when the winter sun is shining so brightly, that I could even take my jacket off and not freeze to death!

What could be better than a leisurely bike ride through some of the Royal Parks of London. Especially when it's the easiest thing in the world to hire a Barclays bike (which are also so affordable)! We had planned to hire them for a couple of hours thinking that's how long we would need to explore every corner of the park, however, we only needed them for just one hour because cycling is so much more efficient than walking. I don't know why I don't do it more often! It's my new favourite mode of transport!

weekend in london.

UntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitled
Weekends are just the best thing on the planet. I love them so much. And this one in particular! On Friday night we went to go see Billy Elliot with some friends and absolutely loved it! We are now theatre obsessed and have already organised to go see Stomp with them next weekend!

Saturday was a day full of awesomeness. We headed to our favourite Borough Market to start the day off with a coffee from Monmouth (an absolute must in London!) and some breakfast hot dogs, before strolling along the south bank, ducking into the Tate Modern to check out 'Inland Australia' seeing as it was Australia day. We continued strolling up to Hyde Park where we hired some bikes to go for a lovely winter cycle through the park and Kensington Gardens. That is my recommended way to explore the enormous Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens. On a bike, they just don't feel so big any more. It's amazing.

Afterwards, we checked out the new Whole Foods at Piccadilly Circus and nearly died from happiness! We got the most delicious burritos for lunch and took home some interesting beers to have with our takeaway curry date night at home while watching Silver Linings Playbook (aka my recent favourite film).

Sunday was the day to sleep in and chill out while watching the tennis, before going for a stroll along and around King's Road - our favourite Sunday destination in London, to pick up some blooms and have a yummy late lunch.

Weekends, you are the best!

the littlest things.

1. An awesome new combo to help get me through the rest of winter | 2. Spending super chilly afternoons in The National Gallery checking out Monet and Van Gogh | 3. Stunning fleurs from The Covent Garden Academy of Flowers | 4. A cute snowed in taxi | 5. My limited edition Diamond Jubilee oyster card - George is so jealous of it | 6. More stunning flowers from the Academy of Flowers | 7. The peacefulness that a snowfall brings |

Happy Friday! I'm excited for this weekend! It's already off to a great start because tonight, George and I are off to see Billy Elliot at the theatre with our friends, Liz & Tina! Neither of us (George & I) have been to see a West End show in way too long!  So we are super excited to go with two theatre buffs (Liz & Tina) who are over here from Sydney to attend an incredible musical theatre course (they both attended NIDA so it makes sense)!

The rest of the weekend will hopefully include things like; Borough Market for breakfast, renting Boris Bikes to go for a cycle through Kensington Gardens and a relaxing date night with a takeaway curry! But mostly, the thing which I love most about weekends is that I get to hang out with my Georgie! Yay!

What are you guys up to this weekend?

bruges, belgium.

Bruges is like a fairytale town. It was just as beautiful as I was expecting. The snow covered canals and cobblestone streets, the cute little cafes and chocolate shops make the town feel so quaint and cozy. When George wasn't attempting to smash the frozen canals with snowballs, we spent majority of the day ducking into bars and cafes to get either beers or hot chocolates (tough decisions).

It was the perfect little day trip for us from Brussels (it's only an hour train ride - so good!). I didn't put my camera down, the town is so picturesque that you just can't!

snowy sunday.

Snow is my absolute favourite. It's like a magical blanket that makes everywhere become a playground and makes everywhere look so beautiful. We had the best snowfall over the weekend, and went for the most peaceful neighbourhood walk to pick up our groceries for the week. Any other day, going grocery shopping is a pretty mundane activity. But not when it's snowing. It's crazy how it does that. I'm telling you, it's magic!

There are definitely no "January blues" around here when the city is covered by beautiful snow!
