brussels, belgium.

George and I fell in love with Brussels. We got the Eurostar from London, arriving only two hours later (the Australian in me will never get over that) after popping a bottle of champagne on the train to celebrate the fact that George wasn't at work and we were off to explore together instead. Once in Brussels, we checked into our awesome apartment that we booked through airbnb, which was the perfect place for our stay.

I'm not sure what it's like throughout other times of the year, but when we were there last week, it felt like we kind of had the whole city to ourselves. That, coupled with the snow, made it incredibly magical and romantic. We loved strolling the snow covered paths, checking out the amazing architecture and beautiful churches before ducking into cozy restaurants for hearty Belgian meals and delicious Belgian beers.

So pretty much; Belgium, we love you!

  1. A city can look so different covered in a blanket of snow. We were there in September and I couldn't imagine a prettier time but alas, Brussels looks good in the winter too!

  7. These photos! I adore them! Traveling in the winter time can have a charm that warm weather does not. (Then again the reciprocal is true..)
