2012.

Two Thousand and Twelve! I didn't really know what this year meant to me until I started accumulating the highlights in photo form. I didn't realise just how great it was. That is what I love about this whole documenting through this little blog of mine. You get to look back and see all the little details that made the year, instead of just focusing on the big things.

I did go through some minor health issues, and did have to spend four months away from George thanks to visa issues, but I also got to explore some of my favourite cities and places like; the Cotswolds, Oxford, the Welsh countryside, went back to Paris, and road tripped all throughout France and Spain with my family. It was the trip of a lifetime! I also experienced the incredible atmosphere at the London Olympics before flying back home to Sydney for an extended holiday.

We visited the Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Hyams Beach and Bowral and had many awesome beach days and Sydney days of course. My dad and I cooked up Saturday lunches nearly every weekend and woke up nice and early to get to the Sydney Fish Markets. It was so nice to be surrounded by my family and my Russy for such an unexpectedly long time! But it was just as nice to fly back to London once my visa had finally been approved and to be reunited with the love of my life. George and I have spent the last month in Christmassy London and have been loving every minute of it.

It has been a great year! Thank you so much for reading and supporting The Littlest Things! It means so much to me! Looking forward to 2013!

Happy New Year!

weekend in london.

For the last weekend of 2012, George and I were in rainy London, enjoying some sales shopping around Sloane Square and Knightsbridge, had drinks at Claridge's with family friends before going out for a sensational Italian meal at Banca, strolled around Covent Garden on Sunday morning and had the best burger's at Bill's for a lazy late lunch. Then proceeded to die from overfeeding ourselves for the past week and a half.

It was the best way to spend the last weekend of the year! What did you guys get up to?

the littlest things.

1. The scariest little squirrel if there ever was one. He just chased us right out of the park! | 2. The red Starbucks Christmas cups. Of course! | 3. Welsh sheep munching away on some grass. | 4. Pumpkins at Borough Market. | 5. Kensington Palace in the gardens. | 6. George in the afternoon sun. | 7. I didn't get an autumn this year, so I love seeing that there are a few fallen leaves still around. |

We have had the most magical Christmas week up in North Wales. We got the train back to London this afternoon, but I still feel like I'm up there in the countryside. With no reception or no internet. I didn't turn my computer back on until we had been back for a good 6 hours. It's weird how easily you can adjust to no connection with the world if you are forced to. I loved it, especially at this time of the year when it's kind of all about looking back over 2012, while also looking towards 2013. I'm excited!

In the meantime, here are a few of the littlest things that have made me especially happy over the past couple of weeks. I'll be sharing more photos of our time in the countryside next week (or we could say, next year!!).

Wishing all you guys the best last weekend of 2012!

cookies + mulled wine.

On the evening of Christmas eve, we whipped up some home made chocolate chip cookies and some home made mulled wine. We sat by the Christmas tree, in front of the fire and chilled out watching movies in our new Christmas pajamas. It's my new favourite way to welcome Christmas day!
