Friday nights come by so quickly, it's hard for me to get my head around it. Whenever I seem to sit down to write this post, I am always a few glasses of wine down. There is nothing better then getting into the weekend spirit as quickly as possible. I feel like I am the happiest version of myself on Friday nights.

Have a fantastic weekend!

midas touch.

I am currently obsessed with bright yellow. Loving the addition to outfits in little details. I got my Zara bag and necklace separately from each other without even realising they match. Crazy!

While taking these photos this afternoon, there was a crazy wind storm going down. All I have to say is, lucky I decided to wear George's cap (to hide my horrible bad hair day) otherwise my hair would have been all over the place. I do have a soft spot for the snow brand, Burton, though. It makes me wish I was living down at the snow with my brother right now. The life of a ski bum is near to unbeatable.

sponsor the littlest things.

Today, I am so excited to announce and share that I am opening up some sponsorship spots for The Littlest Things starting in July. I feel like it's been a long time coming, I have just never felt that I would be able to give any future sponsors my full attention, time or effort, but now I feel like I finally can.

I am offering reasonable rates, giveaway opportunities, am open to collaborations and content contributions. The options are endless.

I would love to partner with your blog or business if we are a match made in heaven. There are limited positions available so if you are interested, email me at sophlear@thelittlesthings.com for rates, stats, ad size and all other details.

peach and blueberry tart.

I have recently been obsessed with desserts and treats that involve fruits. It's such a beautiful combination in the summer time. So, this is my new favourite recipe. It was perhaps, the easiest yummy treat I have ever made.
Peach and Blueberry Tart:

3 peaches
1/2 punnet blueberries
Strip of frozen puff pastry
Apricot Jam
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
2 tablespoons caster sugar
Drizzle of lemon juice

1. Thaw the puff pastry until it is easy to unfold or to roll.
2. Pre-heat the oven to 200c.
3. Cut the peaches into thin slices and mix together with the blueberries, sugar, vanilla and lemon in a mixing bowl.
4. Once unfrozen, roll the puff pastry to your preferred thickness or cut in half if pre-rolled.
5. Spread a thin layer of apricot jam on the pastry
6. Lay the peaches in a straight line, overlapping them here and there. Top with the blueberries.
7. Bake for 15 minutes.
8. Serve with double cream or vanilla ice cream.

weekend in cardiff.

This weekend, we had big plans of exploring more of the Cotswold's. But after waking up on Saturday morning, we pressed snooze and didn't get up until close to midday. Instead of our adventure filled weekend, we spent most of our time indoors; with Revenge marathons, soccer watching, late brunches (we called it brunchea - breakfast/lunch and afternoon tea) and wine filled dinners. With the miserable weather, it was perfect.

We only made it out of the house for pre-cinema cocktails, going to see 5 year engagement (wasn't impressed) and post-cinema strolls when the rain finally let up.

friday happiness.

1// Rainy nights are perfect for soup. 2// Our awesome date night. 3// Rainy train trips. 4// The cutest little watermelon. 4// The beautiful Victoria Quarter in Leeds. 6// Pre-dinner cocktails.

This week involved a little mid-week trip all the way up to Leeds. Adventures to new parts of the U.K will always make me happy. We went out for cocktails and dinner which always seems to feel more exciting in some place new.

Now, it's hard to believe it's already the weekend. Mid-week adventures will always do that to you. And that is why I love them.

blossoming sidewalks.

These photos were taken while walking around a little suburb of London, the suburb where George grew up and where his family live. I was on the way to the dentist and was walking down a street which I have walked down a thousand times, but for some reason, this time it felt almost magical.

The sidewalk was beaming with the most beautiful flowers, people were out gardening, parents were walking their children to the local prep school, the sun was shining and it made me so happy. I was smiling for the rest of the day.

flowy flowers.

I have a little obsession with flowy skirts and dresses (see here and here). Especially in the summer time. They are so feminine, playful and fun to wear, even more so when there's a combination of bright yellow and a pretty floral print involved.

Hoping it will help brighten up the weather and give a few consecutive sunny days!

date night extravaganza.

Our Saturday night extravaganza has to be one of my ultimate Cardiff memories. It was filled with all of my favourite things - great food, music, wine and of course the perfect company.

For our entree, we made grilled prawns with coriander and lime which couldn't have been a better way to start. It was light and fresh with incredible flavour, it reminded me so much of my dad's cooking in Sydney. The perfect summer meal.
We then made Moroccan lamb burgers for our main course. We sipped on corona's while eating them, the doors wide open with the summer breeze coming through.
I got some beautiful little purple flowers from Mark & Spencer (real flourists don't exist in Cardiff city centre) which felt like they went perfectly with the food and the scene. Our playlist consisted of artists; Ben Howard, Angus and Julia Stone and The Radio Dept. We threw down my favourite table cloth my mum gave me, lit some tea light candles and cracked open a bottle of white wine.
After letting our first two courses settle, I made strawberry shortcakes for dessert. It was incredibly quick and easy to make and was a beautiful combination of super sweet, creamy and crumbly. The ideal way to end the extravaganza.

Nights like this just make me so happy. I love getting inspired by good food.
