the visa wait survival guide.

the gym: Ahhh getting up early to get to the gym is my favourite way to start the day. If only because I know that our post-workout coffee relaxation session awaits us. They make the working out...worth it.

eating clean & lean: These books are my food bibles. I don't follow them like crazy but I love having them as a reference, especially at high-stress times like these. Usually in situations like the one I am currently in, I would always make the worst food choices, but this time I've been so inspired to consistently eat well and it's made all the difference.

music: When I had my little thyroid issue, I never listened to music (even though I love it) because it would make my already-over-active-mind think way too much. But since that has been dealt with, I have once again been addicted to listening to my current favourites on repeat. Current's including;
Follow the Sun - Xavier Rudd
Angels - The XX
Reminder - Mumford & Sons
The Fear - Ben Howard
Flowers in Your Hair - The Lumineers
Graveyard - Feist
As it Seems - Lily Kershaw
Lakehouse - Of Monsters and Men
Without You - One Two
Anything Could Happen - Ellie Goulding

pen + paper: The best remedy! Whether I copy out little sketches, like this, that I find on Pinterest. Or just write out anything and everything that comes to my mind, it has become so therapeutic that I am now never without my notebook.

a little pampering: It's just a no-brainer really. Who doesn't love a little pampering to help take our minds off any current annoying situations.

the great outdoors: Fresh air, sand between my toes, the seaside, gum trees, mountains, blue skies, green grass, long road trips...just writing all these amazing things makes me feel so good. The outdoors are my all time favourite.

russell: The all time best little puppy in the world. All my Georgie-cuddles have been going to my best little buddy, Russy. As much as I want my visa to hurry up and be approved, I don't know how I am actually going to be able to say goodbye to my Russ. At least I can Skype my family when I'm on the other side of the world. But Russell, I always imagine him just wondering where I have gone, and that thought kind of breaks my heart! So all this extra time with my Russ-buss has been the best!

sunbaking: This early summer weather has been the perfect opportunity to get a little sunbaking in. Either at the beach on the weekends, or long lazy afternoons by the pool with a magazine...it has been bliss. I suppose I should soak it all up as much as possible before hitting the middle of the London winter!

green tea/and or a couple of glasses of wine: Green tea for the beginning to mid-week when my positivity levels are at their peak. Wine (or preferably a gin & tonic) for the end of the week when I still haven't heard anything (ahhhhh!).

Welcome to The Visa Wait Survival Guide. My guide to help you get through a similar situation when your patience levels are seriously pushed to their limits. I hate all this not having control of my life-ness, but these are the things which have been making me feel a lot better. And it's not even including the two big ones; 1. being able to skype every day with George, 2. being surrounded by my incredible family. They are the real winners! Next week, will be the week :)

Happy Weekend!

P.S I guest posted for Simone today about the amazingness of London. Check it out here and see why I am dying to get back there.

  1. I'm not sure how I missed this, I should've paid a little more attention I guess - but I didn't know you were waiting for a new visa! I was totally wondering why you still hadn't returned to London though.

Anyway, we'll definitely meet up when you're back - sometime! X

Oh and enjoy your time with your dog - it's the best thing in the world <3

  11. Oh, Sophie that playlist is beautiful. Angels is by far one of my favorite pieces. I even put it on a naptime CD for my little preschoolers. Hope the wait isn't much longer :) xo
