interior inspiration: the office.

So, I don't really have a proper office...it's more just a desk to the side of the living room. But I am so happy that I now have an area in our apartment where I can properly sit and get down to business. I'm much more productive and efficient already.

Now that I have the desk, I've been inspired by all the incredible offices I've recently pinned. Especially these ones. They are all bright, cheerful, and uncluttered. They make sitting down at a desk all day working seem so much better.

First thing I need to do is create a beautiful inspiration board. Sounds like the perfect weekend plan.

  2. I love all of these light spaces! Someday, when I have my own official home office, I will have a huge wall of framed cork to post all my inspiration on! Great inspirational offices!

  3. I love these office spaces. I've been thinking about adding a desk to my room, although I spend so much time at my computer during work hours that by the time I come home, the last thing I want to stare at is a screen. These images are lovely though.

Maybe for the next apartment! :)

  4. sophie, you and i have the same philosophy about efficiency with a desk! i have always had a desk in my room, since i can remember. it isn't the neatest thing or most modern sleek piece of furniture...but i can't imagine my life without it! i cannot wait to have my own office someday.

  11. I think a mood board would distract me... I would just spend hours staring at it and looking for more stuff to pin to it!

I found that the best thing for concentrating in a home office is the placement of the desk. I recently moved mine to a 'power' position which faces the door and the window. That way you feel ready for anything life has to throw at you. Plus a clear desk works wonders - something mine isn't right now!!

  20. You should find the balance between what's comfortable and conducive for work. You can't get too relaxed, specially not at home.

  21. The second to the last photo struck me the most. It's chic and very easy on the eyes. I like the unique chair as well. You wouldn't find that in most office furniture NYC stores.

  24. I'm sure this kind of office space is well suited for ladies who love to work at home. Changing the paint into darker shades and using different furniture designs will be appropriate for guys.
