it's friday and this is what's making me happy.
This week has been pretty uneventful but it has been exactly what I needed. George and I packed as slow as we could for our holiday tomorrow, getting sidetracked by everything from Elle Collections to going out to see Bridesmaids (which I found so ridiculously and incredibly hysterical, I couldn't breathe because I was laughing so much in the plane scene...so happy I finally got to see it). After procrastinating as much as we possibly could, we finished packing and have now successfully organised everything for our move to Cardiff too. There is so much to be excited for.
While I'm away for two weeks, I won't be able to get onto the internet at all. But I have got some amazing guest posts lined up written by some gorgeous bloggers so make sure to check them out.
See you in two weeks!
P.S I'm also over at Chelsea's lovely blog today, writing about the things which make me the happiest.
the solution.
Casual nights call for casual outfits. I find it a little hard dressing for the English summer, I always seem to find myself either under-dressed and end up being freezing cold when the weather is typically "British" or I am dressed in jeans and a jumper when it ends up getting to 25c and over-heat way too much.
I've found that the solution is the denim cut-off with a light jumper and boots combo. A combo I love seeing on other people and blogs, so I thought it was perfect to wear on a post-dinner stroll around the neighbourhood with George.

memories of home.
Here's a little Sydney photo movie from my time spent back home. I think most of the photos have been featured on the blog already but I love just having them all in one place with some background music. It goes together perfectly. And I can keep it forever and just watch it whenever I feel a little homesick. The perfect solution.
interior inspiration.
Ever since George and I signed the lease to our new apartment in Cardiff, I have become increasingly obsessed with the fact that we get to decorate. To be able to make a place our own.
I have been so inspired by everything and the thought of moving in and starting from scratch is pretty daunting and overwhelming. Lucky our place is small.
I am so excited to have our first real place together (sans housemates).

weekend in london.
A few photos from a beautiful weekend spent in London. The last photo of the Cricket was actually from yesterday (I'm a bit of a cheater adding it in a weekend post haha) spent at Lord's with George and his little brother watching England vs India.
It was the most perfectly sunny English summers day. However, we had to wake up at 4.30am to be able to get to Lord's Cricket Ground for 6.30am to have a chance of getting tickets. I have to say that it was definitely worth it though, to be able to sit in the sun sipping on some Pimms and watch some incredible sport.
it's friday and this is whats making me happy.
Today marks one week of being back in the U.K. We have pretty much carried on with the Sydney craziness of being busy everyday. This week included George's birthday, going to Cardiff for the day to find an apartment, travelling up to Nottingham for George's graduation, then attending George's graduation before driving out to a tiny & quaint little English village called Southwell for afternoon tea, the day was topped off with a beautiful celebratory dinner before driving back to London today.
This weekend and upcoming week, I am really looking forward to being able to relax and get everything organised for going off the Sicily for two weeks. I don't know if I have ever been more excited for a Summer holiday, I miss the beach and the ocean way too much.
P.S That's not George's own handbag. He's just carrying mine because it was way too heavy. What a gentleman.
we are moving to...
CARDIFF!
Yesterday, we didn't go to Cardiff just to check it out...we were actually apartment hunting. Since George was offered a great job last year, we have been waiting to find out where he would be placed throughout the U.K. We found out he will be working at one of the offices just outside of Cardiff while we were in Sydney.
We didn't know if we wanted to move there until we had been to visit it and see if we liked it. But we absolutely loved it and have signed the lease on a great apartment. We will be moving in right after we get back from Sicily.
I could not be more excited. It's a new adventure...

i can't wait to be....
SAILING AROUND SICILY!
We leave in 10 days and I just can't wait to be on the water, have the wind blowing through my hair, jumping off the boat when it gets too hot, going for afternoon adventures at little Sicilian villages, waking up to the smell of the sea, and just generally exploring and enjoying every moment. I am imagining it exactly how these pictures look. So ridiculously care-free.
A tan like Daria's would be good too. I desperately need one.

george's birthday spent in london.
Yesterday spent in London for George's birthday was just magical. The city couldn't have looked better. We strolled and stumbled upon so many new little areas which we had never seen before. It put my mind and heart at rest about Sydney home-sickness and was the first day where I felt happy to be exactly where I was.
Our adventure included coffee + cupcakes at Bea's of Bloomsbury. An Amazing lunch at The Old Bank of England pub, a beautiful stroll along the Victoria Embankment then a stunning walk through the Victoria Gardens. A visit to the British Museum (which happened to have an Australian exhibition on at the moment). And afternoon tea at Liberty.
The perfect way to celebrate an awesome person.
We just arrived home from a day trip in Cardiff. Another incredible day spent in the U.K but that's another story for another day. It's including some really exciting news so stay tuned...
