here it is again.

Here it is again...the snood. I can't seem to not wear it with every outfit. It just seems to go with every jacket/blazer I own. Today I wore it out to lunch with my two Grandma's, my cousin, a best friend of one of my Grandma's and George. We ate at a little cafe in Mosman, so George and I snapped up these photos outside of Luna Park while we waited to be picked up. A perfect way to start the morning, strolling around Milson's Point with the Opera House in the background. Especially since I was wearing my beloved snood.

It's currently midnight here in Sydney, which means another weekend is upon us. This is so exciting since it means mum and dad are free from work but on the other hand it means another weekend is upon us...I know I always say this but how are they creeping up upon us so quickly? It's all going too quickly. I am so happy I have this blog to document my time spent at home to reflect and remember every day. I know when I am back in England, I will love looking through these posts. But lets not even think about that for now...right now I am so happy to be where I am and I just want to live right in the moment.

P.S It's a little embarrassing how everything I am wearing is either from Topshop or Asos (minus the bag)
P.P.S Don't really know what is going on with the looks on my face on the last three photos...
P.P.P.S HOW IS IT JULY TOMORROW?!?!?!?!

homemade pasta.

Before coming back home, I had a massive list of everything that I wanted to bake with my mum and cook with my dad. But since actually being here, there hasn't been any time to do either. That was until today, when George and I had a full free day and night to be able to tick the first thing off my list, which was making homemade pasta.

It's such a fun way to spend a morning/afternoon (it pretty much takes up most of your day - especially a winter's day) and it is such a sense of accomplishment when it's finished and you get to taste it. Even though it is quite time consuming, it's actually really easy to make, especially when using a pasta maker (the recipe we used was one which just used a rolling pin which looks way harder).

I used: 2 eggs with 200g pasta flour. Pouring the flour onto a clear bench and making a well before cracking the eggs into it and whisking. Then I folded it all in together, kneading it with the palm of my hand until it was a smooth ball. Then comes the pasta maker part and for this part I just used the instructions which came with it and it came out really well. (Very vague instructions, I know...I'm too lazy to get up and read the cook book haha but I followed the recipe in this cookbook)

Spending a rainy day cooking away in the kitchen is definitely one of the littlest things which makes me so incredibly happy.

weekend in sydney.

Another beautiful weekend was spent adventuring around Sydney, with family. Adventures including long lunches over wine and pizza (and then some macaroons) in Balmoral, little walks around the stunning harbour, strolling across the Harbour Bridge on a Sunday morning, lazy Sunday afternoon picnic in the Botanic Gardens, late afternoon drinks at the Opera bar, sunset ferry trips, and just spending every second with my parents. It doesn't get any better.

It's so easy to take your home for granted which is what I have done in the past. Since time is moving way too fast and before I know it we will be back at the airport, I have been making a conscious effort to take a minute and just to look around me and realise how lucky I am to be able to call Sydney my home. It is such a beautiful place!

this winter's love

(Asos blazer & snood, Rodeo Show pants, Princess Highway bag, Jimmy Choo heels)

Today has been the only day since being home in Sydney, that George and I have had a free day to be able to do a cheeky outfit post. And what better than to wear two items which have barely left my side since being here - my white blazer and my fur snood. The ultimate winter accessories while here. Because, lets be honest, you don't really need a big winter coat for the pretty pathetic (at times) winter we have here in Sydney. So in replacement of a cozy winter coat, I have been using the combination of blazer + fur snood or leather jacket + fur snood and it works perfectly every time. They are this winter's love!

Hope everyone has been having a great Monday. I have just had a some friends over for dinner and brownies which went on for way longer than I had anticipated so I currently can't seem to string many more words together but some weekend adventure sharing and photos will be coming tomorrow. So stay tuned....

it's friday and this is whats making me happy

Come Sunday night, George and I will have been back home in Sydney for two weeks...already!!! I just honestly can't believe how fast time is going. It messes with my head. So many times of the day, I am overcome with a nostalgic/daja vu feeling which is really hard to describe but I know that it makes me realise even more that I belong in Sydney. It is my home. I am so happy and feel extremely lucky that I have the opportunity to be able to travel around and live in another country on the other side of the world. It has changed me and made me grow up and see the world from so many different perspectives. But at the end of the day, nothing comes close to being at home in Sydney with my family.

Especially since Eddy and Emma have came home (from living down at the snow - which is what I was doing this time last year) for a few days this week. Going for double dates over a scrumptious pancake breakfast then going off for beautiful adventures around the stunning bays of the city have been moments I will never forget.

Before Ed and Em came back to Sydney, George and I went over to my Grandma's house where she taught me how to bake her specialty sponge cake and had sandwiches and wine while it was in the oven. My Grandma and I regularly email while I am in England which makes missing her a little easier...but when I am in her company listening to beautifully romantic stories between her and my mum's father (who passed away when my mum was 11) I realise just how lucky I am to have the most beautiful, inspiring, thoughtful and kind Grandma in the whole world (I may be a little biased).

This weekend includes spending both Saturday and Sunday with my parents, checking out local farmers markets, going for a walk across the Harbour Bridge, meeting up with family for a picnic in the Botanic Gardens and just generally wishing time would slowwwwwww down.
