tweeet tweeet tweeeet

Just a quick update to tell you guys that I have taken the plunge and joined twitter. After regularly checking out other peoples twitters, I decided to join after I saw Simone had as well.
I am already addicted. You can find me at @littlestthings5.
In other news, everything to do with replacing my lost passport is going super smoothly. I had my passport meeting today and I get to pick up my new one on wednesday afternoon (£250 later)
PARIS HERE WE COME.
Now i am off out for a friends 21st.
I hope everyone has had a great start to the week.

Just a few quick photos from todays adventures. It was pretty much a repeat of this day, if you remember it. But its always one of those days where i could repeat a million times and not get bored.
Starting with a stroll through Blackheath farmer's markets, then lunch at my favourite deli of all time, wondering through the village and then walking along the heath and ending up at Greenwich markets, finishing with a coffee at a little cafe and watching the sunset over the heath.
Sunday perfection.
Yes, we were meant to be in Paris today, which would have been incredible. But we would already be back at home by this time. And now with it being re-arranged to thursday the anticipation is still alive. YAY.
Today I was wearing a Marcs denim jacket which i got when i was around 12 years old. I had a tantrum in the shop about getting it as it was clearly the most important thing in my life at the time. After that, i dont think i took it off for a good year or two, but then lost it in the back of my closet somewhere. Then while clearing out everything in my room to organise what to take away with me, i found it and im loving it once more! Dont you love it when that happens.
Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you all had awesome weekends.

P.S. and you thought losing my passport was bad enough - i lost my iphone with it. However, its my australian one so it doesnt work here. Sucked in to the loser who thought they scored.
But im getting a new iphone come early next week and this time it will actually be an english version.

just touched down in london town

Well not actually just touched down. I have now been in London for 3 days. And ever since being here it has been chaos! Long story - I left my passport in the cab from Heathrow when George and I got to his house at around 9.30am.  Didnt realise it was missing until around 10pm that evening so frantic searching begins, call the cab company and they dont have it, starting to get really worried at this point as our train to Paris is at 5.25am and its already midnight so have 4 hours to find it. End up not finding it, so we catch 2 night buses to St Pancras at some ridiculous hour. Get there around 2.30am and wait until there is someone to talk to about trying to get to Paris without a passport (stupid, i know, but only option we had), so we wait until 4.30am and they say "no" straight away, however, we sort our tickets out and can use them for up to 2 months. By this point, the tube has started, and we head on home, get home at around 7am and start reporting my passport lost straight away. We wait until 9am to speak to the Australian High Commission where I try to get a passport appointment for a new one. They say I cant get one for minimum 2 weeks time but I said I needed my passport immediately (our hotel in Paris could only hold our booking up to a weeks time) so i got an emergency meeting for monday afternoon and I am paying priority service so will be able to pick my new passport up on wednesday afternoon and travel to Paris on thursday morning.
However, chaos isnt over yet. Seeing as my visa is in my passport, i have lost that too. So if i were to leave the UK, when i were to come back in, i would be granted a visitor and not be able to work or apply for a new visa. I would have to leave the country and apply for a visa and only return once my visa has been approved. But since we were both dying to go to Paris and were so disappointed we werent able to go this weekend, I spent the whole afternoon on the phone to visa people, immigration people at both St Pancras international station and Paris' international station asking if it would be alright if i were to leave for a weekend and still be able to come back into the UK with a visa and not as a visitor. Eventually, I got somewhere and it has been sorted that we can go to Paris this coming thursday and return to the UK saturday evening and i will be granted entry with a visa (woo) as long as i had enough documentation to prove that i was previously under the Youth Mobility Scheme visa. So afternoon was spent getting as much proof as possible and also getting new passport photos taken.
We finally got back home at around 3pm where I went straight to bed (as i still hadnt had any sleep since arriving at 7.30am the day before) and didnt wake up until 8am this morning.
So instead of being in Paris this saturday night, George and I are watching Take me out at home while eating some indian. I suppose this could have been worse - i could have lost my passport before even getting to London and would have had to wait even longer to see George. There is always a bright side.
However, the moral of the story: DON'T LEAVE YOUR PASSPORT IN THE BACK OF A TAXI.

I'll be back properly from now on, I miss checking out all your blogs way too much!

a glimpse of a beautiful weekend

More beach photos. I apologise, but this is all i have been doing recently. Heading down to the beach and not leaving until 6pm at the earliest. This is the best way to spend summer in Sydney and seeing as this was my last weekend in Sydney for nearly a year (i wont be coming back to Sydney until Christmas this year) it was perfect. The first photo is from a lookout over the northern beaches, its so picture perfect that the photo actually looks fake.
So this weekend was filled with the beach and late summer nights spent in the pool for hours and hours and next weekend it will be filled with all things Parisian! I leave for London this wednesday and arrive on the thursday and then we travel to Paris on the friday. Life goes way too fast. I am so excited for so many things this year, however, Sydney is home and it gets harder to say goodbye every time I leave.
Anyway here is even more Noosa stuff, but in video form this time. Just a lovely little movie featuring my beautiful parents and I in the stunning backdrop that is Noosa.
Australia is a pretty incredible place to live.

Sunrise over the beach. Definitely worth getting up for.
Here I am wearing a $10 dress I found from a random little shop. I never have the patience for bargain or vintage shopping but when something beautiful and cheap lands in my hands I get insanely happy. And I thought this little dress was the perfect ensemble to wear with the early morning light and beach in the background sans shoes and makeup considering thats how i am usually dressed in the summer.
Right after these photos were taken, I fell asleep on the beach until I got happily interrupted by my rumbling tummy for breakfast. So I casually strolled up to a beach-front restaurant for fresh fruit, yogurt and granola.
I repeat...
the best way to start the day.

Hello. I am back from 3 lovely days camping. Blessed with some more beautiful weather while we were there so more beach related photos to come. In the meantime here are another batch of photos of the stunning Noosa. These were all taken on the last day there before getting our flight at around 5.30pm. We got up at some ridiculous hour to watch the sunrise over beach. It has to be the best way to start the day doesnt it. That me saying it in hindsight because at the time it is seriously impossible to get out of bed no matter how much you know it is worth it.
I am so happy I was able to come back to Sydney to spend such an amazing family holiday with such awesome parents.
This summer is already shaping up to be one I will remember forever. When I am back in England and its all cold and rainy at least I will have these amazing summer memories.
Summer in Australia is unbeatable.

Another pair of shorts in which i am living in these days, this time by American Apparel. Shorts are my new thing. Same with the clogs but you guys already know about them not being able to get off my feet. They are so comfy its impossible.
Sorry about the overload with Noosa photos, there are still more to come though so dont get over it yet haha.
Im pretty sure I am back from camping now (its still only the 15th right now) so ill be able to have some more insightful and interesting words by tomorrow rather than just coming up with random sentences.

(happy birthday dad)
Third day at Noosa and the sun came out for dad's 50th birthday. It was absolutely perfect. All day spent falling asleep under the boiling hot sun, diving into the ocean when it got too hot (which was every 15 minutes), fruit salad and lemonade for lunch, finishing with the yummiest seafood for dinner. I just wish i got a photo of the birthday cake but sometimes its nice to experience everything properly and not from behind the camera.
It was such a lovely night celebrating the best dad in the world growing another year wiser.

Here are a few more photos of my new favourite shorts. These photos had to be taken quick as after 8am the pool is open for playing in and is inundated by thousands of kids.
It was because of blogging that i found Queen's Wardrobe and I am so happy i did as i am addicted, although slightly bad in terms of needing/wanting even more which i talked about here.
But sometimes i rekon its alright if it makes you happy.
And happiness is the key.
