And we are back in business. After an insanely stressful few days, it has been sorted. We are going home for Christmas.
It's funny how I didn't even realise how much I needed this trip home, until it was temporarily snatched from me. I started thinking about what it would be like to stay here for Christmas but the thought was incomprehensible. After all, Christmas is about being with the people you love. I'm just so lucky to have the most beautiful family at home who have helped us get out there.
I'm so incredibly excited to get back home to the city which I belong in. To have three weeks of summer. Living at the beach, eating only fresh fruit and seafood, hosting BBQ's out on our deck, wearing only summer dresses and bikinis, and spending every second with my family. I can't wait to share it with you.

Dearest Sophie,
ReplyDeleteYou always have to follow your heart...! Enjoy this Christmas as it will be quite different for you now; you can compare to other places. But sure it feels fine to have 'sunshine'.
Love to you,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteHi Soph - delighted it got sorted and boo to that dreadful company that duped you. The thought of summer now is so heady - I have a horrid cold and so would relish the prospect of warm beaches. I think you do need this trip - it's been building in you in a palpable way for weeks. Thank goodness for family. Lou x
ReplyDeleteP.S. I am worried my email didn't reach you??
YAY - so glad you guys were able to sort everything out and get to both go back home for Christmas! Although, I still think it's absolutely terrible what they company did to you!
ReplyDeleteJurgen isn't coming back to California this year with me (sob!) so I decided to only go for 2 weeks from the 7th to the 21st and then come home for Christmas and spend it with him :)
xoxo

Thank goodness! I wish Christmas meant wearing a bikini for me, that sounds all kinds of awesome. I'll be sitting in mounds of snow, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteYay! Christmas at home is just the best! :)
ReplyDeleteI am soo glad everything worked out and I really hope you get your money back. What horrible people! My husband and I are going home to Colorado for Christmas as well. I can't imagine not being with them for the holidays. Missing Thanksgiving and Easter is hard enough.
