sicilian outfits: high summer casualness.

Seriously casual summer dressing was my theme for the two weeks of sailing. I just couldn't seem to conjure up the effort to put anything else on other than flowy summer dresses, denim shorts and thongs (flip flops) or sometimes not even bothering with any sort of shoes for that matter. However, I think the fact that I grew up in Sydney, where it's summer for 9 months of the year and winter for only 3, helps with this casual laid-back style. I definitely find it easier to dress for summer than I do winter.

Our schedule for the two weeks went something like this; wake up at 10am, set off sail at 11am to another adorable little place in Sicily, sunbake and read on the boat the whole time while getting there (could be anywhere from 2-8hours. However, on the 8 hour sails we left at 6am, although my wake up time wasn't affected at all), arrive there around mid-late afternoon, if arrive mid-afternoon we would go for an adventure around the town, if around late-afternoon we would carry on with sunbaking and reading until the sun was starting to go down and it was time to go out for our pre-dinner aperitif (most of these photos were taken just before going for our aperitif which is why the lighting is a little dodgy in some). Dinner was eaten at a very Italian pace and we wouldn't finish until at least 11.30pm-12, before going back to the boat and playing cards and drinking more wine. Repeat.

See, as I said yesterday...Sicily was a dream.

Now I have the chance to be able to thank my amazing guest posters I had while I was away. I had really wanted to write an introduction to all their posts, however I wasn't organised enough to do that unfortunately. So, thank you so incredibly much to Louise from Lou, Boos and Shoes, Olivia from everyday musings, Sarah from fairy tales are true, Simone from The Bottom of the Ironing Basket, Alexa from afternoons & coffeespoons, Christine from A Quiet Determination, Nicole from La Mia Vita, Christine from Fash n Chips, and Megan from Across The Pond.

These girls all have incredibly beautiful blogs so be sure to check them out!

Sounds like a great trip! Great highlights in your earlier post and great outfits in this post. Stuck in Sydney's "cold" winter and feeling very jealous.

I definitely prefer the laid back approach to summer and while on holidays. It's great to wear effortless clothing. Nothing worse then being uncomfortable in the heat and while on holidays.
