I've sat here for a good while trying to piece some words together which portray, even just the tiniest bit, of how out-of-this-world-breathtakingly-beautiful the encounter with my Dolphin friends was. But nothing seems to come close. It's indescribable.
It was just another beautiful day on the boat. I woke up to us already set of sailing for the day. We were on the way to a little island just north of the mainland, called Ustica. I had fallen asleep while sunbaking until I got woken up with "SOPHIE, SOPHIE, SOPHIE...LOOK!".
And there they were...countless amounts of the most gorgeous Dolphins I had ever seen. The most incredible sight. I didn't have my camera at this point, but I didn't care. I couldn't take my eyes off them. After they didn't seem to be going anyway and seemed to love showing off to us (they synchronised a dive...all 40 - at least- of them) I went to grab my camera. So happy I did, seeing as this was my ultimate highlight of the whole holiday. I'll never forget it.

ah! i love this post! dolphins are my favorite...one of the best birthday gifts i got as a child was "adopt a dolphin" -- it was a certificate and poster saying i saved a dolphin. xoxo jillian:: don't miss my fishs eddy dish giveaway!

I happened to see a dolphin when I went sailing in Greece. Only one person on the boat could even get a picture, that dolphin was way too quick. haha. :)

we get dolphins here in NJ too - it's amazing to just be on the boat fishing and then u see a school of dolphins go by - it's AMAZING ---
Sept 1 starts the killings in Japan :o( ... i'm a big believer in causes and heling out a cause - u should spotlight the killings in japan every year - it's horrific!

There was one time when my boyfriend was catching a ferry to uni, and 3 dolphins came up alongside the ferry and swam and frolicked the whole way. He managed to get a video of it on his iphone and now everytime i'm in a dreadful mood I look at it and just feel so, so happy. You're right, its seeing things like this that makes life seem really, really incredible.
