paddington markets.

Whenever I am home in Sydney, I always try and make sure I get to Paddington Markets on a Saturday morning/afternoon. It always turns into such a beautiful day strolling through the many market stalls, picking up some lunch and going to grab coffee afterwards with my cousin and grandma who live in the area. The best way to kick off a weekend in Sydney.

This was the first time I have been to the markets in winter which meant there might not have been as many stalls as there are in the summer time but there were also no where near as many people. It was way more casual and easy to spend more time at each stall. Especially since the sun was out shining.

After our coffee break, we went to check out the Young Australian Designers Market (not featured in the photographs) which like Paddington Markets, was pretty quiet, but it was just as amazing, if not better! The jewellery stalls and the knitwear stalls were incredible - I wanted to take so much of it home. It's a lot kinder to your wallet too.

Both markets are a must-visit if you are ever in Sydney on a sunny Saturday. It's such a nice way to spend a day in the city.

looks like an enjoyable time! how fun some of those booths are... I wouldn't have been able to walk away from the soap or jewelry stands without buying a few things :) and your market outfit is perfect! I forget, since you are in Australia, that you are in winter! whoops... so maybe saying Happy Summer Solstice isn't the best bet?? ;)

I love markets! I wish we had more of them here in the U.S... but they are usually cheesy and everyone sells the same "made in china" junk.

My absolute favorite way to start off the weekend is going to our local market too. Saturday is the outdoor food market and Sunday is the antique market. The best market however, is in Eastern Market. This market is HUGE and has a tons of food vendors (all giving out free samples of pickles, gumbos, pretzels - my personal favorite- and fruits and veggies) as well as crafts and vintage boots, clothing... looks a lot like the market in Sydney. Thanks for following my blog, I'm looking forward to following yours!
