i'm always the happiest when i'm with my family

It has been insane ever since George and I landed back home in Sydney on Sunday night. We got off the plane at around 7.30pm local time and got through customs and out to be greeted by my sobbing mum, the rest of my family and the most torrential Sydney rain ever.

The rain still hasn't subsided but it hasn't dampened our spirits. Sunday night, after we got back from the airport, my dad cooked up a delicious prawn linguine and we chatted and chatted and chatted over a few bottles of wine. Eddy, Em, George and I didn't end up getting to bed until 4am - there was way too much to catch up on!

On Monday we had a BBQ with a lot of family and family friends to celebrate being home and my recent birthday. The day ended with watching a DVD of a compilation of home videos - made by Carla - from when we were growing up. I can't even describe how funny it was.

Yesterday, George and I spent the day with Eddy and Emma since it was their last day in Sydney before going down to the snow for the season (not the best timing!). They are coming back in a few days time for a week, I already can't wait to spend some more time with them and have more days like yesterday, driving around Sydney on little adventures, having coffee and chocolate milkshakes at cozy little cafes.

I think today has been the only day in which George and I have been able to relax for a while before going to the beach for a hot chocolate with mum and dad. I've finally caught up with jet lag so I'll be back to blogging and reading blogs a lot more regularly now. Can't wait to share more Sydney adventures!

You have an adorable family made even more so by that pup pup. Chatting into the wee hours with bottles of wine are the best!

What an amazing time it sounds like you are having with your family! It must be so great to be back home, after being so far away. (And also to be experiencing winter again!)

Is that a Jade necklace you're wearing?! Stunning Sophie!

Funny, my new post featured a Jade ring. Jade = my new obsession.

Congratulations on what seems to be a lovely visit with your family/friends! Nothing is better than good food, good wine, and good conversation with great company.
