smoothie addiction

Ever since receiving a blender on Monday morning I have become addicted with making smoothies. I have even been making more than three a day. They are just so easy and so so yummy that its impossible to resist. They are also pretty filling which is perfect for me because if I am the slightest bit hungry I tend to eat way too many of those cookies I mentioned yesterday.

I haven't really been following any sort of recipe for my smoothies, I have just kind of chucked a few different fruits in which has worked perfectly well. This one here is a strawberry & banana and it was the first one I made. It included; 5 strawberries, 1 banana, 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of natural yoghurt, 1tbsp honey, 2tbsp rolled oats and 3 ice cubes and serves two.

I have also done combinations with strawberries, bananas, blackberries and blueberries which also makes for an incredibly yummy smoothie. I used everything from above but just added in blackberries and blueberries and viola! Ive also been making thinner, more refreshing smoothies including pineapples and apples where I have just substituted the milk for water and adding no yoghurt. That is the perfect mid-afternoon smoothie.

You can pretty much just add anything to a blender and you will get a beautifully tasting smoothie.

I'm so into fat free yogurt right now, especially with a little granola on top. It's my new obsession. And your smoothie sounds DELICIOUS. I worked at a smoothie shop in high school and still love making them.

Umm, yum! I have smoothies as part 1 of my breakfast (I need a part 2 otherwise I cant make it to lunchtime!). My favourite is definitely mango. Shame it's such a seasonal fruit.

Thanks for your comment btw. Looking through your posts and your Hyde Park photos really remind me how much I loved being in London this time of year.

I am a total smoothie addict too! I start everyday with a spinach, banana, almond milk, and agave smoothie. It's a good way to get extra greens.

Oh yeah that looks really yum. I love cinnamon in mine as it's tastes so nice! Or sometimes add carrot and ginger but not if it's got bananas in. :-)

I've got to get my blender out. I usually toss in a spoonful of peanut butter if I'm wanting extra protein, or a tiny bit of vanilla to the the banana smoothies. To the orange-y ones, I add a couple of shakes of ginger.

Yes, when I get on a smoothie kick-I'm like you-I'll have the blender whirring 2-3 times a day.
