Spring Fever....!

Today was spent standing in the absolute freezing cold watching friends play an important rugby match. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love watching live sport, especially when friends are involved. But when the weather is 2 degrees, windy and sprinkling rain, it has a lot to be desired.
While England has been hanging out for the warmer temperatures of spring, I was rather enjoying this cold weather, since I was home in Sydney for 6 lovely hot and sunny weeks. But now my opinion has changed and I am on the Spring bandwagon too.
With tomorrow being the first day of the new season, this is what I am expecting:

Pretty much...sunshine, flowers and fresh fruit.
Hopefully I'm not expecting too much. Happy last day of winter Northern Hemisphere.

yummy brekkie

Bill Granger's Honeyed Yoghurt with Fresh Berries
1.5 cups continental-style yoghurt
3 tablespoons honey
1 cup mixed berries

Place yoghurt and 2 tablespoons of honey in a bowl and mix well. Spoon into glasses and top with berries. Drizzle over remaining honey. Serves 2.

Such a yummy way to start to the day.

Rainy days are the absolute best when you have no plans of
leaving the comfort of your blanket and hot chocolate.
Exactly what I did today.
Perfection.

Life is better with company

"Think about it - your favourite memories. The greatest moments of your life?
Were you alone?
I don't want to sound like a Hallmark card, but......Life?
It's better with company."
George Clooney -Up In The Air
George Clooney is definitely right! Life is better with company.
Today i was walking around Nottingham town with my boyfriend. Was such a nice afternoon. We went into Habitat furniture store, I love Habitat. Looked through the summer catalogue
and saw this amazing setting! Reminds me of some of my friends chilled outdoor areas.

Also went to the deli and got some yummmmmmmmmmy food.
Deli's are the best!

Now going to see Up In The Air...........
Perfect day!

Some of lifes lovely little pleasures

Today I spoke to my family for 2.5hours. It automatically puts me in a good mood so it made me want to think of things that also make me automatically happy.
Here it is:

Snow: My absolute favourite! Snow = skiing,
and skiing is arguably the best thing
in the world.
Snow also = building snowmen, snowball fights, cuddling in bed
or by the fireplace while its romantically snowing
outside.
Amazing!

Cupcakes: And cakes and cookies and brownies.
Just so so yummy. Baking them myself is just as good as eating
them sometimes.

Breakfast: Especially breakfasts which look like this.
I never have enough of them, but that
makes me appreciate them more when I do have them.

Shopping: Which girl doesn't love shopping? And not just
clothes shopping, but all sorts.

Travelling: I think everyone has to love
travelling. Getting to see other
cultures, people, sights...getting a different perspective
on life.

Flowers: Flowers brighten up the world. No matter
what type, they are all lovely.

Perfect Sunday Arvo

Playing "kart" all afternoon with friends
couldn't be better.

snowy sunday

This morning when I went to open the blinds I was expecting sunshine again, just like yesterday. Instead I was pleasantly surprised again but this time by snow!!!

England and its crazy weather!

Absolute disaster

Last night I went out wearing my lovely Witchery earrings but returned home without them. I started to frantically search the house, clinging onto the hope that just maybe I took them off before I left. But my hope was short lived as I looked through my photos and found a picture of me wearing them while out. An absolute disaster. I hate losing things but I always seem to do it.
Luckily I am going out for a late lunch with my boyfriend and a bunch of friends which will surely cheer me up.
I have already cheered up a little bit actually. I opened the blinds this morning expecting a miserable day, but was pleasantly surprised when the sun came streaming through the bedroom.

View from bedroom window. Such a classic English street. I love it!

i love love

lazy thursday arvo

Today i was meant to go make-up shopping/go to the bank. but..............in the end i got sidetracked by Bill Granger's cookie recipe. i don't think i have ever actually made home-made cookies before, usually i just make them from the box. but today i decided to actually bake them from scratch. perfect way to spend your day, baking cookies on a cold cold English afternoon.

an amazing education

absolutely love this and Carey Mulligan is stunning

did you say it?.

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow.

THE INSPIRATION

So, I never really thought of myself as a "blog" sort of person. Never been overly creative or arty. BUT...since watching Julie&Julia on the 24 hour plane ride from Sydney to London, I have never been more inspired to do anything. So here I am, making my first post on The Littlest Things that make life wonderful.

Doesn't this make you happy?
